Getting your GST registration right the first time saves you weeks of back and forth with the department. Here is exactly what HATS asks for, broken down by business type.
Sole Proprietorship
You will need your PAN card, Aadhar card, a passport-size photo, a copy of your electricity bill for the business premises, and a valid rental agreement if the premises is rented. You will also need to share your firm name, the nature of your business, a working mobile number and email address.
Partnership Firms
Along with the partnership deed, each partner needs to submit PAN, Aadhar and a photo. The firm's own PAN and registration copies are required, plus the same premises proof as above.
Private Limited Companies
Companies need the company PAN and incorporation certificate, along with PAN, Aadhar and photos for all directors, and premises proof for the registered office.
How Long Does It Take?
With complete documentation, HATS typically has your GST certificate issued within 1 working day for proprietorships, and within 3 to 4 working days where additional verification is needed.
Missing even one document is the most common reason registrations get delayed, so it is worth double-checking your paperwork before you submit.
